Show me your head units!

I'm pretty much decided on what I'm going to get for my '01 Sahara. I just want to see what you guys have!

Recommendations work too

This is what I'm getting:

Sony CDX-GT610Ui

x2. Get a Kenwood or Alpine, probably the two best consumer head units. Find what you want on Crutchfield and then look for it on ebay, check the price difference and see if its worth it. Crutchfield provides you with your vehicles install kit included in the price which will typically save you $35 - 50 depending on make and model.

We know you said you were decided on what to get, but do some research on sony's head units and you'll probably change your mind.

One of my main reasons is the USB input. Where did you see bad ratings? Everywhere I've looked it has good ratings.

I did. Crutchfield's reviews are the first one's I read. I'll keep looking though. Thanks for your help!

i wouldnt use sony for a high end system...but ive had good experience with low end stuff.....i installed an Xplod head unit and 2 Xplod 12s w/matching Xplod amp in my dads 96 silverado (his truck is red, and he wanted red equip), and this was almost 5 years ago, and they still have no probs and pound quite well for low end. Hes very happy with it.

Why do people always assume "Alpine" is the best because it cost the most?? Funny stuff, if you want a great warranty and headunit get an Eclipse, they are harder to find but have lifetime warranties, ANYTHING goes wrong simply ship it back to them and they will fix/replace for free. I have had alpine and eclipse, personally I feel like Eclipse>Alpine

i dont think people necessarily think that alpine is better because it costs more. I've had alpine products and they've been fantastic, its just because they build a quality product that everyone likes them so much.

x2 ... sorta ..

I love my Eclipse deck in my t/a (CD4000). One of the few decks that provide 5v preouts and 6 outputs. For someone looking to put out some nice clean crisp sound. Thats where they need to look.. Most of sony decks have 2-3volt preouts.. and the most ive seen an Alpine or pioneer is 4v preouts.

However there Amp & Sub selection is still pretty slim. Great componets though... just my .2 cents

Also if i may add, I paid 399 + tax about close to 2 years ago for mine.. I just noticed on ebay there going for around 100 plus tax and shipping .. wtf !.. ha

Check out the Alpine CDA-9885. Crutchfield sells it for 249.00 and I have seen it on eBay for 190.00 or so. Good features plus I like that Crutchfield throws in the extras. I have put several Alpines in my cars for over 20 years and never had any issues other than one being stolen.
