SirGCal's design is on his website, and I think the mounting depth for the subs he built into his 2k TJ, they were around 3 1/2" deep. However, many people have made modifications to the design to accept deeper speakers.

Read the forum archives and there are a lot of people who've done write-ups on their modifications.

Those are some Big speakers and a TINY volume to go with them.

And Here I was going to use the pioneer shallow mount 10inch speaker... with THREE inches mounting depth... Like a SUCKER...

To stick strictly to my designs without modification (some mods are easily done however);

Max Recommend Mounting Depths for conventional subs:
97-02 TJ Normal box: ~3.75"
97-02 TJ Larger box: 5"
03+ TJ: 3.75"
