Screens that flip DOWN instead of up, do they exist?

Cant put a flip up screen in an XJ, and its not 2-din so can't go that route unless i customize the center console somehow. I have yet to find a screen that flips down, anyone ever seen one?

I have been thinking about this one. Never found one in a store to really see it. But from the pix it looks like it would fit great in a TJ.

Here is a site with better pix of it.

never seen one; do you need the screen to fold away? maybe you could find a place to mount a screen and then just put the player in the dash.

or thsi is pretty new and neat but pricey

Just a heads up pricey is a relative term when comparing units as this. My prior indash screen ran me $1200. 500 to me sounds excellent. That was 3 years ago now but it seems theres a low point where these units hit and 500 seems to be it for brand new units. Good find Gily25.

A quick search produced this. You can see in one of the pics the indash flipped out. As a heads up, most indash screens will allow you to set up exactly where you'd like the screen to tilt out to thus preventing them from knocking into the controls behind them. Also, some of the higher priced units will allow you to tilt the screen left and right a few degrees to make it easier to view from certain positions in the vehicle. ie the drvier's seat.

The OP is in a cherry but thanx for the links.

I can understand the relative term of pricey but for 1200 buxx it better have a full screen and not just be a single DIN.

I remember about 6 years ago, the peak of the flip out screen craze, Sony made one that was only a screen(no pre-amp, cd, dvd, nothing) that could be mounted upside down and the image on the screen flipped. I don't know what you plan to do with it, but as a video monitor, It would be sweet. I don't know the part number. Sorry.

basically i want an all in one unit for basically music and gps. I drive alot, all over the place and I dont want a GPS that is in my window. if i had double din it would be nice cause then i could just put something flush mounted in there but oh well. i havn't looked at the links yet as im about to go to a meeting (im at work) but i will momentarily. thanks everyone
