Running 0 gauge...How to...
Not sure were to begin. I'm trying to install the system I have from my Suburban but done know how to start. In the Suburban I ran the wire from the battery to the rear under the body along the chassis and drilled through the floor to bring it back up to power the amps.
On the XJ, I would like to run it through the interior but I can't seem to find an area large enough to run the cable. If I go though the bottom like the Suburban, I guess I'll have to seal it up very good so I don't have to worry about water getting in if I ever do wheeling in deep water. Anyone have done this before, would like to get your ideas.... Thanks..

you could run it under the carpet under the door sills and by the body moldings.
why 0 gauge? you're going to need to upgrade your alternator before you could even get close to using the amount of power that 0 gauge can support. i have 4gauge thats rated for 100amps and if i was using all 100 of those amps... i dont even know how long my battery would last |

I've got 4 awg running to the rear from the battery. You might be able
to run the 0 awg where I've got the 4, but it might be tight. This is where I ran it in to the cab: ![]() ![]() Then just run it under the molding to the rear of the Jeep. (like I said, 0awg might be tight) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Spyder6: It's what I have from the Suburban(which burned down and that's why I have an XJ now).
I used welding cable and it worked very well. Will need to see if the speaker boxes fit next. XJ99: Will have to see if that route will work. Going to see if I could also install a power inverter in the rear, that's a good idea. Thanks for the input.. |
