Rockcrawler camera
Has anybody ever mounted one of those backup cameras in the grill to assist in spotting for the "down in front: action while rockcrawling. I recently bought a couple wireless units at a Costco closeout for $15 and am thinking about a front grill mount to monitor the area just ahead of the front end below the sight level. Could call it a "winch Cam". Any ideas or suggestions??

intriguing..... i like the idea, minus the fact i'd be afraid to go in mud or water in the event i might kill the camera.

I plan on doing something similar to this when I finally get my truck up and running. I have 2 backup cams (image is not reversed) that i picked up for about 8 bucks apiece, and I had an extra screen kicking around to use. I plan on mounting one in the middle facing forward and unless I find a way to flip the image I will either have to get another camera or find a way to mount it behind the rear axle to watch the tires. I also have plans to make them tilt and pan. also they are water-proof.
ah so many plans, so little time and know how to get my truck finished. Jonathan |
