Remove stuck CD

Anyone know how I can remove a CD stuck in my stock '00 TJ stereo? I tried disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes.

Most CD players have a manual eject button. It is usually a really small hole and need to use a pen or pin to push and it will eject the cd.

Also, try posting this over in the TJ technical forum.

That's a good way to get your posts deleted... This is not a TJ Tech post. This is where it belongs...

But the rest is right. Check for the tiny hole, bend a strong paperclip strait and stick it in to manually eject it. If not, taking the unit apart to fetch a disk is not actually all that difficult.

Also it helps to fill your profile out so you dont have to write on your question what vehicle you have. We can see it!

On my after market, it suggest holding the power and eject button together ie use two fingers and hold them down for a period of time.

Most CD Roms (like on a computer) have the little ejection port (the paper clip trick) your head unit may not.

Try different combinations of buttons should work.

Hope this helps you!!

I wish I read this post before I sold my last truck with the Bob Dylan CD still in the player!

another idea is try to eject the cd, and then take another cd and the slot opens are start trying to push the stuck cd with the second cd. I've had it work numerous times in my Mustang's stock unit.

This is one of the more common problems with the stock unit...I guess it's time for an upgrade.

I just got my upgrade put in. I should of done it a long time ago.

I did also check for a pin hole to manual eject but there isn't one. I ended up taking the stereo apart once it was out. I don't think that unit will ever been working again though.
Thanks.
