question on Replacement speakers for sound bar...

My sound bar has a blown speaker and I want to replace them. I found the two options but really do not know much about speaker. What do ya'll think, or have another suggestion?

I recently upgraded mine. You can actually go with a Pioneer 6.5" (# TS-A1673R) and it will fit right in. The cloth from the soundbar tucks right under and it looks nice & tight. Just another option. I originally was leaning toward the Kicker from Quadratec as well, but went with the 6.5" because I really don't think you're going to get any "base" from those speakers anyway. I also had a salesman that was really pushing the Pioneer. Must have been a special or something. Not sure which sounds better - just providing you with another option.

For the price those kickers are a rip, you can do a lot better for that price.
Those kickers are 34.99 on crutchfield
Here are some 5 1/4 speakers
I have the polk DB521 that I got for $38 when Circuit City went out of business.

x2 on the 6.5"s, you will be much happier with them. I had Clarions in my old Toyota and they sounded great, I haven't had much experience with Kickers but I have heard decent things about them. Also, check out Infinity, I have had great experiences with many of their speakers.

Did you have to make any adjustments for the 6.5?

You can take the measurement of the pioneer there that was discontinued and match it with other speakers out there. That well give you roughly more options on to what will fit inside the sounds pod there. Me personally i am throwing some infinity kappa's series components up there.

I have a VDP soundbar and my 6.5"s fit right in. The only difference was the original speakers were recessed in the soundbar the infinity 6.5s fit fine in the speaker port, but screwed to the outside of the soundbar, so they we weren't recessed but that is fine with me. Not sure if this would be the same on your soundbar or not, like I said I have a VDP.

I went to best buy and bought some 6.5" round pioneer speakers for about $50.

They fit perfectly and sound way better than the stock ones. you can have the top and doors off on the highway and still hear your radio well.
