plexiglass sub box?

Is it possible to make a sub box out of plexiglass compared to wood? Is there any advantage?

Browse the web you can find enclosures with plexiglass sides (common for bandpass boxes). Unless you have a competition vehicle and want to show off your beefy subs there's no benefit. In fact wood resonates better so it would actually make the subs sound worse. If you were looking for something thinner then try your hand at fiberglass, it's easier than you think.

Ya, plexy is all for show. It's actually really bad acoustically unless insanely thick. If you want to show off the inside of your box, it's the way to go (there's actually a better glass to use too but...), but other than that, MDF or a good dense hardwood will give you much better results.
