no radio reception

when my motor is running I get next to no radio stations, I have checked all the grounds I can find everything seems good. Its so bad that with the motor running my garage door remote wont work as soon as I turn it off the remote works again

have you done any ignition upgrades like a higher output coil or any "high performance" plug wires?

Generally don't use the CB and radio at the same time. But you're antenna for the radio might be bad making it exceptionally worse.

check the connections from you antenna to the back of your HU. Have you done any other audio upgrades, or is everything else stock?

I do have 2 ppi amps, a sound bar, 2 boxes for my 5 1/2s and a sub box for a woofer but these have been in since right after I bought it 6-7 years ago and the problems are more recent. does anybody think a bad alternator could be causing this? its just weird that it only happens with the motor running it doesn't matter what position the key is in. I can chalk the bleed over to a cheap CB and antenna

OK I am not a complete knucklehead I dont try to use the cb while listening to the radio, it will do it with the volume all the way down on the radio, so that part I was thinking that it is a radio shack cheap antenna so it might be broadcasting into my rca cables (they are pretty close to each other) does that sound possible?

I removed my belt and ran the motor ( just long enough to check my garage door remote) and there was no change, so its not charging system

Fuel pump is another source. There's probably 50 possible sources of potential ground-loop feedback noise from the spark plugs to the fuel pump and everything in between.

And out of curiosity, check your antenna connection thats located behind the glove box, is it loose, or touching metal.
