Is this a no no with an electric fan
I just pulled apart the motor of my Hayden electric fan. 16" puller fan. The wires inside melted to the brush mounts and shorted out. I replaced the chincy wire in there with heat resistant coated 10 gauge wire, put it all back together and it screams alot faster than ever now. I know its pulling no more than 30 amps since the in-line fuse never blows and ive run it for about 2 mins to check the wires and they dont heat up. My question is am I gonna kill the motor and brushes prematurely cause of the speed or what???? I have the stat for the fan set to 215 so it keeps the engine temp right at 210. Its the little sensor type that slips in the rad fins.

I duno the specs of the fan or what the specs are you're running at so it's really hard to say if you're going over, but I doubt it since unless you shorted past some expected resistance or other device of some kind, you shouldn't have changed the electrical status of the device, just upgraded the wire. But without really seeing it myself, it's hard to say for sure.
