yeah i guess those do an ok job of explaining. I googled and searched couldn't come up with a sub one amp and 4 door speakers those. I guess I could kind of figure it out but man this is pretty daunting for someone who has never done this before lol.

I have a feeling it depends on the purchasers attitude whenthey call b/c I've made quite a few purchases thru here for friends and collegues (as well as myself) and never had a problem. They even called one time to make sure I intended to purchase a DVC 2 ohm type R sub. I call that GOOD customer service. You are correct about the warranty but for the lowered price you can typically buy 2 of what a warranty offering seller wants.

yeah but you can't get around the fact that the manufacturer will not imply the warrant good service or no good service. I have been looking at prices pretty extensively and sonicelectronix is a great website.

sonicelectronics is not a licensed retailer of much of what they sell either. Just FYI...

ok i think i have located a soundbar off of craigslist for $75 not bad ill see if I can talk him down. I have read that a down firing box is the best design for top down driving. Does anyone know of a premade box for like a single 10"? I googled and could only find dual sub boxes not single. I have also changed my mind on the door speakers too lol. going with Kicker ds460 and prob match them with kicker 5 1/4" DS as well. But that may change too!!!!

downfiring is the best option for a wrangler. that you are correct on

i dont know of any prefab boxes that are made downfiring

i would make your own. simple box turned upside down with feet screwed in will work may not look the best but it will still work. lots of people have made thier own so i'll let them sound off on the subject. just 3/4" MDF is good then maybe bedline it for some protection/looks

you know of a website that will give me the info on how to make one and give me correct dimensions? I actually wouldn't mind making it. I have googled and found a couple of youtube videos.

the thing is that every sub has a different optimal volume. you would want it sealed just for the smaller size and ease of building/calculations.

the easiest design is just a regular square which is LxWxH with some legs added onto it. so that it sits ~3" (depends, again, on the woofer)

but you can also make a back that goes along with the angle of the seat so it sits flush just takes a little more math and work to cut the angles and stuff

does anyone have this? I am thinking of making a box/instatrunk and designing it after this. It looks like it is only secured by the metal brackets on the bottom. I don't think it would be that hard to make.

designed after that isnt bad. but paying that for it is ridiculous.

lots of others design stuff like that. just out just4effect for ideas. and if you happen to want to buy something he makes some top notch stuff i here but im sure there is some brain food as well

there was a site that i was looking for earlier here is a calculator for a wedge type enclosure that could fit in snug against the seat
http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp#wed2 as well as calculators for many other things good place to roam around on and gain some knowledge

you would need to flip it up so that the angle is the right way H1 (width) would be facing the bottom with the hole cut out for the sub and h2 (width)would be the top. take the measurements of that your width and actual height

oh yeah i would never pay for that, but i was gonna make an instatrunk with some mdf and L brackets I already bought everything for it and it looks like all I would have to do is figure out the dimensions for the box, secure it to the instatrunk, buy some feet and make some brackets to bolt it into the bed. I can mount the amp on the top of the instatrunk too.
