since i don't know much about wiring i decided to just have a local "customs" shop install my new stereo since my cd player died in august. so i sit there for a couple hours, didn't have an appointment. whatever. they finish and told me they had to "hard wire" it since they didn't have the right wiring harness (this got my attention) so i said whatever, as long as it works. well it works fine, but now my factory subwoofer doesn't work.
turns out "hard wiring" meant ripping apart the factory wiring harness and jerry-rigging it into the one that came with my kenwood stereo. after searching i see that i need to connect the blue/white wire off the new wiring harness to get the stereo to send the "amp on" signal. only problem is that everything i've seen says to connect it to the solid blue wire, but as you can see i don't have a wiring harness anymore and have no solid blue wire. i didn't realize this until after they closed so i'm still waiting for a call back, but i'd rather not take it back to them or pay someone else to mangle my wiring
(i could get a better picture tomorrow, but the black connector is what the stereo connects to and the grey is what's left of my factory wiring harness)
please help, i knew i should have just spent a few hours learning how to do this myself. :brickwall:
