My budget audio build

Alright, I've asked all kinds of dumb questions- all to get to this point. I just ordered my speakers, wires, and sub. I will be ordering my amps in a day or two. I have done this while saving for my first year of college, so I am trying to keep the cost minimal. But at the same time I want to do it right once and not end up doing this more than once bad.
Total cost without amps:
Pioneer deh-3000mp HU+install parts- $80
Alpine type S 5.25 speakers (2pr)- $130
Alpine type S 10" sub for in rear seat- $70
Wires- $25
--------------------
add shipping and its $305

The amps are about $120 total off Profile's site.
Add in materials for my box and 5.25 adapter it comes to a little less than $500 total. for 55 watts rms around the 4 speakers and 300 to the sub I am hoping it'll be good bang for my buck. In the store they sounded good, and hopefully better in my rig.

haha I've done my fair share of ghetto-izing speakers with my YJ. This includes making similar boxes to yours with cheap plywood and shoving the speakers on the floor between the front seats and the frame.

I did about the same thing. Piece here and there when funds allowed and when I found something cheap on ebay. Minus my Sony HU and Sirius Starmate Replay (both gifts, I'm guessing about $200 for both), I'm thinking I'm about $300 with amps...

Subs: Infinity 1042w (2 for $89 at Crutchfield)
Front speakers: Infinity 6412cfp plate speakers ($29 shipped on ebay)
Rear Speakers: Infinity 5021i ($36 shipped on ebay)
Fill amp: Profile California 100sx ($16 shipped on ebay)
Sub amp: Profile Beta Digital 100 ($71 shipped on ebay)
Various wiring/cables: about $20.

Total: $261 and some change. Isn't it amazing what you can do on a budget?!?

yeah, ebay is your friend haha.

the hardest part has been trying to make a set up that will last as long as my truck, and that it sounds good. All while reminding myself that I'll need beer money, among other things like food and books (just semantics), next year for school so my budget is really limited.

I'll be getting refurbed amps, so I hope I don't run into any problems. Also, to quad-druple check, Profile is a solid brand for amps, correct?

alright. Got all the pieces for SirGCal's box cut out. Now it's time to figure out how the hell it goes together

I'll keep ya posted on my various, inevitable blunders.

alright, i am hoping to grab some help here.

First, my ground location isn't cutting it. What is a good spot to ground for an amp located in the center console? And while im asking, a sub amp that is under the rear seat?

Which leads me to my second question. Could anyone grab a picture or two of the rear seat assembly? Maybe even with a sub in there? I've been trying to reassemble my seat and what seems correct doesn't quite fit.

Thanks a lot

Ground the amps here:

You can see where it's at here too (silver wire):

The ground is solid and is paint free under that hook thing in the rear near the tailgate. You run all wire under the carpet too.

Dude, you've missed the boat here. If you don't have a significant other get one. When he/she says, "I'm going to the store", that's when you chime in and say, "Hey baby, please get me a 12 of __________ (fill in the balnk). She might ask for some cash, but don't cave. Remember, you're saving to fix up the Jeep she'll get the pleasure of riding in with YOU.

It alomost never works for me but once in a while, I score a 12.
Good luck

haha yeah well not sure if a 12 pack once in a while would be worth all that

Alright, I get everything hooked up, rear seat setup mounted and everything looks good. Turn the battery on. The sound is amazing. Turn the engine on and I get really bad engine noise through the speakers (not the sub). RCAs are away from the power. I have moved the ground from the speaker amp so many times that I ran out of places. I am out of ideas. There was no engine noise prior to hooking up the sub.

Am I doing something wrong? Each amp has power from the battery. Each amp is grounded seperately.

Thanks
