Mopar RB1 with Mopar Sirius and CD Changer

I just purchased the Mopar Sirius Kit for the my TJ, looks nice with all brackets to mount tuner and antenna to roll bar. I also purchased a mopar 6-disc changer. I plan on connecting both of them to my RB1 unit. However, it looks like I can only connect one and not both. I also purchased the song title/artist cable. But after going over all the installation manuals, which really aren't specific, it appears I need some kind of multiplexer in order to connect both to the RB1. I have seem some posts in regards to this. It seems I have to purchase, yet another, kit. Is this true? If so, what am I missing and does anyone have the mopar part #. It looks like I need to plug both the sirius and cd changer into something and then run that connection to the RB1. Any help is appreciated. thanks

I'm afraid I can't help with that, but could you tell me how exactly the Sirius antenna is mounted & where the control box is supposed to go?

If I can't find a suitable way to mount my OmniFi in my new TJ, I'll probably go the Sirius route so I was hoping to find some info on how it's mounted.

Also, you have an RB1 in your TJ?? I'd LOVE to have one, and considered it for about 5 minutes. Then I realized how pi__ed I'd be if somone sliced my top & stole a $1600 deck. I'll have to stick with the laptop gps sitting on the passenger seat for my off-road treks.

Haven't got the RB1 yet. lookin on ebay, they are goin for $700-$900. The sirius I got was from mopar and is wrangler specific. It comes with 2 brackets. One bracket mounts the tuner box to the passenger side door hook (wear the hard door strap attaches) The second bracket mounts the antenna to the rollbar above the passengers head, comes with a nice cover to cover the antenna and rollbar. Just hope the reception is good. I have been using a plug and play sirius unit. The mopar antenna head is 4x's as big, so hopefully reception will be ok.

Is the tuner box visible at all down there? How about the antenna? Does it stick out a lot or does the cover make it look nice?

Any chance you could take some pictures of the install?

I think your going to need the equivelant TJ part to this P/N 82207564 . This is from www.wjjeeps.com/sirius/sirius.htm which is a WJ site, but most of the info carries over to the TJ's.

I saw this ebay auction last night. It mentions a specific part number the the TJ installation kit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

(I'm looking at adding the Sirius kit to my RB1 also)

After a bit more searching I found the TJ kit, I think... http://jeep.autowebaccessories.com/s...4_218_5039.php

Hope some of this helps.

Let us know how it turns out.

RB1 and sirius

Yes that is the kit. After a little searching I located that sight, also. Which has complete diagram. I will order the kit tomorrow, which I think retails for $124 from mopar. The sirius kit on ebay is the one I got. Good deal because you get the brackets included. Like he said, if you purchased them separately from mopar, would be spending about $300.

Anyway, I hope to get the sirius and cd changer mounted this weekend. I also ordered the Tuffy speaker boxes that mount on the rear wheel wells. I will mount the cd changer in one of those.

The sirius kit is nice. The kit comes with the 2 brackets. one bracket mounts the receiver to the passenger side door pin. So this keeps it well secured about 3/4 up under dashboard. The other bracket mounts the sirius antenna to the passenger side roll bar.

I will post pics sometime next week

I installed everything about 2 months ago. The only problem I had with the install is that the cable from the CD changer (6 CD Model) to the transducer box had the wrong number of pins on it, and there is no suitable replacement cable from DC. I ended up having to hack off the end of a cable with the correct end on it and splicing a new cable together using the original cable and the new cable. A time consuming process, but fairly easy to do. You'll need the pin out diagram to do the conversion.

I had to make a pin removal tool (Radio Shack didn't have one for pins that small). I can give you the dimensions of how to make that if you want to repin the ends, like I did.

I mounted my transducer box behind the dash on thepassenger side (behind the glove box). There is a nice size flat area below the A- Pillar that I used some double sided molding tape to attach it with.

If I get a chance, and if anyone is interested, I can get some pic's of the install and get as much detail down on my install as possible.

Yea, I saw that when I looked at the diagram. I was looking at doin the same, with just cutting the end off and splicing it in. I am also looking at picking up a used changer off ebay with the 8-pin connector. I will work on it this weekend. The other problem I ran into was when I picked up the multipex splitter box kit, the cables that came with it were only 2 ft long. I was planning on putting the changer in the tuffy box that mounts to the rear wheel well, but that won't work because the cables aren't long enough. Well, will let u know what I do next week.
