Oh. 2005 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with the RPK radio.
Bobby, I don't think you will need the 10-10 wiring extension (I didn't). Your deck is one of the standard decks that it works with. But Jeff is the parts manager at Wyckoff... I'd suggest that you email him to verify. jeff@wyckoffchrysler.com

Good luck!

This is cool... If you note on the kit contents page below (see F), there are two connectors. One for the iPod, and one "aux" plug. Yesterday I bought a wire to hook the audio jack from my iPod Video to the "aux" plug (it's a mini stereo male to male wire). By doing this, the sound plays through my TJ's stereo, and I'm able to watch TV shows I've purchased from iTunes (or any other video) this way. Well not while I drive of course, but my wife can in the passenger seat. Of course the iPod is running off of it's battery rather then being powered by the TJ by this method.

For those with an iPod Video... I've found software to rip movies. Movies in the Jeep!

Thanks grogie! Did the kit come with all the parts listed on the above sheet? Is the part listed "E" included? I am wondering if that is the same as part number: 10-10 Wiring extension 5191195AA? Or is that part number just a longer version of the wire listed as "E"?

I actually found this accessory and other cheaper at http://www.chryslerpartsdirect.com/. I may go ahead and order from there.

Thanks,
Bobby

Oh. 2005 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with the RPK radio.

I think it is required if you want to mount it outside of the glove box.

I know this one will work with my headunit, but until this model came out, there was NO unit compatible with the RBQ. A fact I did not know when I swapped out my RAZ for my RBQ.

I did this install on my TJ yesterday morning. I got it done in about 2 hours including a lot of goofing off. The write up was right on and helped a lot.

Since I have the RBK base radio, titles etc don't show on the display. So it has voice prompts to direct you through the choices on the ipod. Its a little strange at first but the sound is great and its all concealed in the glove box.

I did put the box behind the speedomoter but it was very easy to do.

Btw, www.jparts.com has the full kit for $142.88 with free shipping. It came in about 4 days.

I thought the voice prompts were pretty cool - at least you don't have to upgrade your HU to run it.

Look on the front of you headunit, there will be a 3 digit alpha code on there, that is you model.

These are the codes this will work with RAZ, RBP, RBQ, RAH, RBK, and RB1. Here is a breakdown of the ones I know. All of these, except RBQ(?) can control an external CD changer and have disc /\ \/ buttons on the 1/6 buttons.

RAZ & RBP - cd/cassette combo.
RBQ - In-dash 6 disc changer (This is the only non-FM modulated unit to play an iPod on this headunit).
RBK - single disc CD unit.
RAH - single disc CD/MP3 CD unit.
RB1 & RB4 - single disc Navigation units (I do not know if this unit will work with the RB4)

What do you mean the only non-FM modulated unit?

Of all the units to play an iPod through the factory headunits, the only models that will play an iPod through the RAQ is the Mopar Integration kit and FM modulated units. FM modulated units hook up to your iPod and send a FM signal to any stereo on a preset FM frequency, while all controls are limited to the iPod itself. While this allows you to listen through any FM radio, the sound quality is not as good. This is one type unit.

You have had this installed for a while now, have you had any problems with your iPod Video freezing up? I am ready to buy this, I found a dealer on ebay selling these for $150 shipped, but they said they had problems with the iPod Vidoeo units freezing with this unit.

No freezing with my iPod Video. I used it on a 3,600 mile Jeep trip last August over two weeks, and not a single problem. Although I am going to buy a Nano to just leave in the glove box (or mount it out of sight behind the glove box).

It's been great having all of my playlists in the Jeep! Worth the money!
