Its pretty stable. If you go this route, just make sure you have it forward enough so you don't cover up your footwell vent! The first time I did it I blocked it & had no heat on my feet when it was cold out. I did wrap the CB right-angles with electrical tape too just to make them appear black. Probably will spray them w/ some black paint next spring.

I mounted it to my lightbar. I put on a swivel so I can park in the garage. I also had to put in a spring because it gets slapped around in the trees a lot.

This pic shows it down (horizontal in front of the lightbar).

I did this same thing, except mine's set to the right to avoid the Hi-Lift mount on my swing-away. Very easy to do. Here is the link to 4x4xplor's write up of it. It also shows how he routed the cable through the tailgate and in the tub.

I mounted mine to the rear gate as well, I eventually ran the wire through the vent right under the mount.

I was thinking about doing this with my setup, but when i took the sparetire off and looked it didn't look like it was level, this might not make alot of difference to most people but i would catch so much crap from my brother who's race car is put together almost perfectly (except for the stuff he had me fab up...since he can't weld ). Just wondering if it looks odd. If you can post pictures of a side view that would be great!
