Radio shack does not have a great selection of radios any more. Check with truck stops. Better yet, look here:

http://www.rightchannelradios.com/

They have great deals and great customer service.
I have the Cobra 75WX ST with the Cobra external speaker and a KB 40 antenna. They sell kits like my set-up starting at $169.00.

THIS is a very solid, small and reasonably priced CB rig.. Do a search here and you will find a lot of first hand info about this rig.. Good Luck

I have a Cobra 29 LTD and like it a lot. I would definitely recommend it to someone looking for a good radio. It isn't all that expensive either. I use mine with a 4ft. firestik antenna. The radio is a little large though and a bit heavy. There are still plenty of ways to mount it though. I used http://www.rightchannelradios.com/ to get all my CB equipment. I found that they are a great shop and have great customer service.

I like the Uniden 510 or 520 (w/PA) and there are other models.

The most important part of the CB System is the antenna, then the coax, then the CB.

Pay the most for a good antenna (Wilson, FireStik) and good Coax (Belden or Times MicroWave), then look for a CB.

The Antenna Mount/Stud, get the Stud Mount that uses Ring Lugs to connect the Coax, better all around.

good point. It definitely is true that the antenna is way more important than the radio. i definitely have found this to be true in my experience with CB radios.

Sparky's CB Shack has great customer service and he doesn't hack when he does a peak and tune on a radio. Height is might (as well as low SWR and a good install) so don't ever forget about the oldschool 102" whip although that'll get in the way bigtime. lol

Here is a link http://www.sparkyscbshack.com/Home.html

I think Uniden makes the best CB's out there.

Clean installation

I installed the following:

An LED switch panel.

From Cool-Tech an UltraMount CB Antenna System
SKU: JK07001 $89.00 with concealed mount, antenna and coax cable.

A cobra 75 WX ST remote mount.

I ran the coax up behind the switch panel (it replaced the plastic rectangle above the transmission tunnel below the stock switches) and mounted the remote mount behind the new switch panel, drilled a hole in the switch panel for the microphone quick plug in. Unless the microphone is plugged in, nothing is seen. It is a clean look with no CB crap hanging on or under the dashboard.

I only use the CB in Interstate driving or on trails.
