Jeep wont start sometimes....

Earlier today i went out to my cherokee and started her up for a little bit, did some cleaning, went to go start it again and it didnt start, seems like the starter, when i tried starting it all the lights on the dash went out. then 15 min later it starts wtf. Has a new battery and rebuilt alternator, i think its the starter. Any other ideasas to what my mystery may be ??

How did the lights go out? Did they just turn off like on a switch or get gradually dimmer?

You could always try to jump the starter, or take it out and have your local parts store test it for you.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Definitely a cheaper fix than a new starter.

well after while the problem came back, i did start it by turning the key and shifting to neutral so i think it may be the neutral safety switch, i cant seem to start it that way anymore though, everything just goes out, when you go to start it you can hear the relay, ive checked the battery connections but i think my problem is many things, maybe the connection at the starter or the grounds
