looks like you went at it the hard way!

I would just use blade connectors on the end of my wire leads to my switch that I could stick in the fuse box. Mount the fuse inline and you're good to go.

The purpose of this mod is to keep the (DING you left your lights on)

If you pull the fuse the (DING) goes away.

I like that Idea. A switch was the first mod I did. One of the best so far. Never had to remove that fuse ant it is so easy.

Yes but blade connectors in my fuse box is a NO GO. They just look cheap and lazy.

And won't that make at least one of your headlights stay on permanently with the ignition?

Better to use a SPDT Relay - Put Ground for the buzzer on the Normally Closed terminal, and connect the coil to ignition... When the Ignition is on, it'll throw the relay over to the Open terminal - and the buzzer won't sound.

Remove the key and the buzzer will sound because it now has a working ground.

what's wrong with buying a kit to make your lights easy on/off without having to pull a fuse?

Dear God, can we forgo the never-ending debate on whether this is an acceptable mod or not, and simply accept that some people like the idea of installing a switch instead of pulling a fuse or putting clamps on the door plungers?

That would entail not resurrecting a thread that hasn't been opened for 11 days with a simple opinionated comment. **** Inappropriate content removed by moderator ****

Cheers! M2

Isn't it true the warning buzzer doesn't come on when your headlight is left on when you turn off engine and remove the key to exit the Jeep? It does that to me. May be I did it wrong with the fuse box, but I was caught several times with headlight left on for some extended time.

It would be nice to do the switch tech w/o disabling this function.

Maybe I'm not seeing your point? How is adding a switch to add functionality something that isn't being built? Wouldn't it be bought if it came with the Jeep? Just because he didn't build the wires and switch himself??

The quadratec one is just the blade into fuse panel trick, you can do it for about $10 vs $25, but either option works, if you're comfortable cutting into the short wires, it's a great alternative.
