Installing '03 - '06 Speaker pods in a pre- '03 TJ. Write up:

I searched around and didn't find what I was looking for onthe forum, so I thought I would share my install.

I picked up some Rubicon speaker boxes for a wicked deal, so now I just have to change the wiring around from a pre-2003 TJ setup over to one that fits up to these speakers.

Wiring (colors didn't exactly match, but were close enough to figure it out):

Splicing in the wires:

Cutting off the old harness (note the colors- I think 3 of 4 matched the new pods):

All wires connected and tested.. Sounds good and light works!

Drilling into the cage for the support bolt:

Pushed in the rubber grommet for vibration dampening:

Mounted up and ready to rock!

Any chance you can refresh the pictures? I'm planning on doing the same model this week.

I am selling a set of '03-06 OEM speaker pods with 6.5" Polk Audio speakers and a harness for retrofitting them into a '97-02 TJ.
