I bought a uniden 520xl with a fire stick antenna. I set up the cb and the fire stick and my swr is over 3. Tuning the top of the antenna didn't move the swr at all. I grounded the antenna with 12 gauge wiring. Can anyone tell me my issue?

Wire it to the battery with an fuse inline. You can/will get interference if you plug it into the cigarette lighter.

I can see that your antenna stud mount is incorrectly assembled, causing the high SWR. When correctly assembled and mounted, there should be no need for an extra "grounding" wire.

The threaded stud goes on top of the bracket.

Use the Google and find the Owners Manual with install instructions.

See www.Firestik.com and follow the info in the Tech Help section for CB antenna mounting and CB antenna system problem solving. The info applies to all brands of CB antennas.
