Help with Engine Noise via Cobra & CB Info Library
I was out reading the web and found this answer from Cobra Electronic about Noise in a CB System and a good way to approach the problem and define the source and how to attempt to fit it. There were changes to the site; I have changed the Link and added a few steps. Click here; Then choose Category: "CB Radios", then Sub Category: "Troubleshooting", then "There is excessive noise on my CB radio.". I hope this will assist some people in finding noise problems in their vehicles. Or the direct link here:http://www.cobra.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=support.FAQprint&faqQuestions AnswersID=39&FAQSUBCATEGORYID=190&faqCategoryID=19 0&todo=go_deeper Other CB Information & Trouble-shooting: CB Tech Library Additional Information; Most CB noise is related to dirty power. This is the one device where I STRONGLY recommend running both power and ground (fuse on the power) directly to the battery. Do NOT use existing 12V circuits for CB power systems and then complain about noise.
