headlights randomly turning off

my headlights keep randomly going off at night, checked the switch i took it out and took it apart and it works fine, what else could be the problem and how to fix it?

sounds like a wire might be shorting out somewhere....but wouldn't that blow a fuse?

bad relay?...maybe

i dunno....just throwing out some ideas

had prodlem w/ 97 turned out to be the lever. it was getting stuck in between hi/low jiggled and they would come back on
