headlight conversion help

I may have broken a policy here. In most pages posting the same question in two different forums is not accepted. it was not done intentionally. I just recognized this section. If a moderator sees this.. please cancel the post in TJ and t/y. I posted in TJ something similiar. The lock ring that secures the headlights will not secure tightly on after market lights namely the Delta Tech h-4 conversion. There is upwards of 1/8 in. slop. any ideas .. either to shim it up.. safely, or maybe the other Quad bar Xenon? Thanks
SWEAT

Are you sure the screws aren't stripped? Did you try putting a stock light back in just to verify (doesn't take but a second...) Maybe it's the wrong aftermarket light... You'd have to check that with the manufacturer... Also, only a few H4 conversions are street legal... FYI.

thank you so much for the straightforward reply. Yes I did check and there may be a possibility the lense is not the right one for the 06 Rubi. Going to research it today. I also called Quadratec and the response was pretty close the same. I was considering a new retaining ring.. but then again, I should not have to, these lights are an OEM replacement and should ( key word) bolt right in.. so to speak. Then I also found out that since the Jeep is an 06 .. too new.. the ring hasn't been put into stock. Next thought was the Delta 4 bar with that black plastic ring.. maybe it increases that snug fit.. but what is the light dispersion? I know that the lense is fluted but with what pattern? I don't know if I would like it. I am aware of the DOT issues ,thanks for the mention, some wouldn't be that considerate. So I'm kind of vexxed. any ideas are going to be appreciated. thanks again
Dan

Are you refering to the less expensive Delta H4 conversion? I have this setup on my 04, and it installed flawlessly without slop. I can't really offer more help at this moment, but those lights should work in your Jeep.

Ok.. so now, I will have to confirm that I DID get the right conversion kit. The 06 had a little too much play for my liking so it may have been for another model. Thank you
