Hardwire multiple adapters?

Hello,

I am interested in simultaneously hardwiring multiple power adapters in my TJ. Specifically, I would like to wire a garmin, mini usb, both apple connectors if possible.

What would be the best way to do this?

Thanks!

Buy one from an auto parts store or eBay. And hard wire it in.

This is probably a dumb question but can I just take any random USB adapter and strip the cord near the USB end and attach it to the same place I have my sirius hardwired? Will that actually work?

Are you asking if you can take a USB device and hardwire it to 12v?

No not without an adapter. USB runs at 5V DC.

Could just install an extra single/double cigarette lighter style power outlet and then stick one of those tiny two port cigarette lighter usb things in it. Some of them look pretty flush-mounted when plugged in.
I only suggest such a redundant sounding thing because there seems to be a lack of proper hardwired 12v to usb aftermarket options.

Just get a multi port 12v adaptor and hide it behind the dash. Place the cord into it and run the cord. Then when you need to change the cord for a new device it is just a simple plug swap. Maybe zip tie the adaptor into the plug.
