To continue from Tyler Dirden post:

Where did you mount your antenna ?

What antenna did you buy and why ?

How did it match up (SWR) ?

I won't be mounting my antenna/radio for a while yet but it is good to hear about others and how they did it.

Thanks,

Ive been so busy...sorry I didnt respond right away

I was given a real nice little Radio Shack CB /40 channels...plugs into my lighter. I mounted it on top of my dash with velcro and foam (so it wouldnt rattle/bounce)...ran the antennae coax behind the dash in the windsheild channel, behind the dash and under the carpet to the right rear quarter panel. Cant see nothin...its stays put, permanent. The CB is out and in the garage until the next trip. I think you could pick up a decent little CB for about $40...

I bought a Black 3' Firestik antennae...(so that it doesnt hit the home and parking garage that I park in...) mounted to the exterior with a ball mount. Once again, drilling about a 3/4" hole in the side of the Jeep. I leave it up. The Antennae was about $16, the mount about $24, and the coax about $8

Everything works great. I used it alot this last weekend at Last Chance ...and Thank God I had it, cause, I needed all the advice I could get!
