Factory Sub to Aftermarket Sub Questions

Hey all. I've got the seven speaker system in my 05 sport. I have a 2 - channel amp and a 10" infinity in a truck box ready to install. I have the 6 disc in dash changer and want to keep it stock. I picked up the line converter for the rca outputs to send to the amp. I am very interested in how the current factory sub is wired. If there is an amp in there, then perhaps I can use all the wires going into the amp to do the rca conversion and remote turn on wire. Does anyone know how this is wired and where everything is located in the console area?

Does this sound like a sensible way to do this?

Thanks in advance and happy new year!

Not too sure how the sub is connected, but I will tell you that I unhooked mine after adding an aftermarket sub. I just lifted the console and unpluged the amp/sub assembly. It makes the whole system sound very muddy. I had replaced the stock speakers and was very unhappy with the new spkrs, so I exchanged them for better, more expensive speakers...same result...muffled sound. Once I unhooked the stock sub, BAM the sound was 10x better.

Which of the wires would work as my remote power wire? (or whatever it's called -- the wire that tells the amp when to turn on.)

Also, which of the speaker lines would I use to convert to the rca outputs with my converter. The converter requires left and right signals (both pos and neg.)

1) Pin 5 on the sub connector, labeled "Radio 12V output"

2) Pins 1+2 (Right) & 3+4 (Left) -or- Pins 7+8 (Right) & 9+10 (Left) ... depending if you want it faded for front or rear.

nezzr thanks for the help thus far. I am not sure what you mean by faded for front or rear.

If you keep your fader centered, it wont matter. But if you change your fader setting, it will change the signal going to the sub depeinding on which wires you connect to.

For example, If you typically keep your fader set towards the front I'd suggest connecting the sub to the front speaker wires. If hooked to the rear, you'd be attenuating the signal to the sub.
