An example; recently a guy around here dropped in an Alpine CDE-102 ($130 right now from Crutchfield) and the KTP-445 Power Pack in to his Jeep with those Alpine speakers you first linked. Sounds great! You, for example, could do the head and speakers now, even though they're underpowered for a bit, and add the power pack later when the budget allows. That would be your start for around $250 for head and speakers. Again, just one of tons of examples...
I think I am going to go with the Alpine CDE-102 and the Alpine 5.25" speakers. Then later upgrade it with either a amp or, most likely, the Alpine KTP-445.
I will let you know how it sounds once it is all installed! Thanks SirGCal

I like Kenwood’s eXcelon line up, but I’m not brand loyal. That being said, the CDE-102 is a respectable unit for the price currently advertised on Crutchfield’s website. If I were shopping in that price range, I would most likely choose that unit over Kenwood’s offerings. If you plan on using an iPod, make sure you order the KCE-433iV full speed cable.

So I finally placed my order with Crutchfield tonight. I decided to go with a Alpine CDA-105 headunit and two sets of the Alpine SPG-13C2's. I plan on getting the Alpine Power Pack this summer for my birthday. Thanks again for all of the help.

btw- The referral code was one to many digits so I couldn't use it.

I thought I would go ahead and tell yall about my system I installed. The speakers sound great and clear and are perfect. The headunit works great. The only thing is that it calls for a bracket to be used in the back as extra support. Didn't know if anyone knows something I could do to make this happen. Any ideas? As of now it is in and doing fine without. I am just worried that over time the stress will cause something to break...

Update-

The speakers are holding up well but every once and a while I will hear popping, cracking, etc. randomly. If I turn my music off for a while and turn it back on after a while it goes away. Whats up with that?

I also bought a pyramid sub to replace the stock sub but I have no idea how to get it to work with the system I have now. Help with this will be greatly appreciated.

I still haven't figured out a good way to support the headunit in the back (refer to the post above). I notice that when going over bumps (of all sizes) it vibrates hard enough to make CD's skip. I hardly ever use CD's but it is annoying when I do.
