Double Din help please

I have this sitting around:http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=IVA-W200 and wanted to know if anybody has done a double din work on their Jeep, i have an 04 GC Limited and just need to put this thing in. I went to an audio shop and they told me thats a no go because of the vents, i know i've seen this done before. Please post pictures for me and how it was done and if it can realy be done.

Jeep radios are din 1 1/2 so the double din won't fit, unless you break out the sawzall

I have never done this but the idea is interesting.

You will need to open up the Radio Opening, don't know what is below or above the radio but look and see.
If there is a contour to the dash then a spacer will have to be fab'd to fit the dash and allow a flat mounting surface for teh HU or you might be able to sink the radio in the dash and fab up a panel to cover up any excess opening.

Wiring should be the same, so I don't see a problem, but the vent thing is another thing. You should be able to move the vents some but it will depend on your fabrication skills.

I think the level of expertise for this project is high but if you feel up to it or you don't mind screwing things up a little then try it out.

Luck and take your time and plan the project out completely first before ever cutting a thing.
