different spkr. locations in XJs?

Does abyone have pics of speakers in the rear side doors of a cherokee, or bigger speakers in the rear hatch? I want more sound from the back. I was thinking maybe 2 very small enclosures for a pair of 6.5's mounted to the back hatch door? I'm just throwing out ideas, anyone else have anything? Are the headliners from the 2 different cherokee generations interchangable?

Well the front u can go 5.25", and same with the back. but i think in the back u can go about 6 or even 6.5 if u dont mmind drilling new holes. I have 5.25 all around and it sounds great, and i have a 10" sub and my speakers still sound awesome.s

My Alpine 5.25's all around sound pretty damn good, but i was thinking why not set up a second set of speakers in the rear door kick panels...? So you have the two in front, two in the hatch, and two in the rear doors. Just a thought!

Well i definetly think you should put the set of 6.5s in the rear hatch, and get some nice 5.25s to replace your front ones (i think it would be a PITA to put 6.5s in the front...but im sure you could fab up something). And if thats not enough i defiently think the next best place would be the two rear door kick panels.

I dont know if your still running your stock headunit, but if you are GET A NEW ONE. A new high quaility HU is the best thing you can get to improve everything about the sound quality. After i replaced my stock speaker they sounded 100% better, but once i for the new head unit it was 250% better...no more distortion, better clairity, just better everything...be sure to get a HU with pre-amp outputs if your gonna use your seperate amp to power thoes speakers!

Oh and if you have an iPOD or any other mp3 player you could do what i did and run a wire from the back of the headunit under the center console..drilling a little hole and install a plug for that thing!
