Anyone have a breakdown on which wires go to what on the plug that goes to factory gauge cluster? When its unplugged the alternator doesnt charge.

Its a 91, vortec 350, th350, atlas II, the only thing left factory is dash harness. When i unplug the gauge cluster and the deal above the steering wheel the alternator doesnt get excited. Plug them back in and it starts charging.

When you unplug it you are unpluging the charge light. Some alternators require this. If you wan to go aftermarket with gauges you could just get a one wire alternator or have yours converted. This will make things much simpler.
