Cheap 6.5s

I have a ripped speaker in the door of my XJ and I'd like to get a set of fairly cheap speakers for replacements. I hate to ask, but does Wal Mart sell anything worth a darn that would work? They're 6 1/2 Polks. I know I won't get anything at that level. Thanks.

Sony x-plods are decent enough for the price (I think like $35 a pair). Not great, but good for cheapos and I'm pretty sure Wal-Mary carries them.

And Yes I run pies in my XJ, and I don't know how the guy with the integra gets up those washed-out farm driveways.

As always, my signature is a work in progress

Look online unless it has to be Wally world.

you should get some good deals at millionbuy.com or ikesound.com or woofersetc.com or sonicelectronix.com

Good luck

Matt

Jackpine, i am running a sewt of 6 1/2's and 5 1/4 Lightning Audio's for over a year now and i love them. you can get the 6 1/2's @ Walmart for $40. i am running about 40 -50 watts on each of them w/ a crossover. honestly i wanted something cheap and i have been very happy with them and i have been suprised by their clarity.
in the past, i have always owned Alpine, Memphis/Aria and Polk. If you didn't mind spending the $, i would reccommend any of them. but if you something very reasonably priced, look at the LA's. i doubt you'll find anything thats better for $40 , even online that will sound as good(unless their used).
i can tell you from experience, that they will blow away the Sony Xplodes, plus i think their a little cheaper. i have heard the Xplodes and IMO, they aren't that great!

oh yeah the LA's 6 1/2's are oversize or 6 3/4's, not a true 6 1/2.
