CB Antenna mount location for 2010 JK
Just installed a 2' firestick on the rear taillight arm with an L shape bracket that comes with most kits, had this installed on my TJ with selftapping screws on rear quarter panel, i never had might antenna short ID light up until now, i can talk with other cb'rs but its bugging me where this short could be.
Are there any brackets out there to successfully mount an antenna with out drilling into the body?

ARIZONA ROCKY ROAD ANTENNA MOUNTS FOR JEEP WRANGLER, UNLIMITED AND LIBERTY
Just bought myself a JK tailgate/spare-tire mount there.. About $35 with shipping (great deal). I am just waiting for it in the mail and I'll be all hooked up. No drilling required, it bolts right onto the spare tire rack with factory bolts, super easy install. Rick, the owner, told me it would even support a 102" whip with a 6" spring; so it can handle quite a load (good for large HAM antennas).
Keep in mind the tailgate isn't the best ground on the Jeep; you may want to run a ground strap from the back of the tailgate (inside the Jeep) to the tub. Make sure you remove the paint where you drill the hole so you get the best ground possible.

Think i will try to fab that up, i used self tapping screws and ran some wire to ground antenna mount, will take your advice on grounding straps from tailgate to tub, radio works now pretty good can run better after a good ground.

This is the mount I made! Used the 2 tail gate bolts and cut a slit in the plastic trim!

thats because your antenna is too close to the body of the jeep its not a short its high SWR's try a 6 foot wilson silver load and mount a ball on the side of the jeep ! firestick , not really a good antenna

my antenna mount.....works pretty good.. making one for the other side...
I want 2 mounts.. one for HF and one for CB or 2M.
took the cable up next to the roll bar on the passenger side down through the front window molding, down under the passenger side over to the dash down the console to the center. Radio might go under the seat.. right now using an HT. Jeep is so easy to route wires in.... I hope the power to inside is as easy... firewalls are always fun.. Not.
I posted this just cause I like seeing what others did... good ideas are gained..

CB Antenna Mount by Teraflex from 4Wheel Drive http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?partID=41223
They sit behind the brake light and don't require drilling. I did add a screw to mine, just for stability.
