camera mount

does anyone know of any, or know how to make a camera mount for a digital/video camera that is solid so i can record my offroad excursions from my dash?

i think most cameras have a small hole on the bottom that is threaded so you can mount it on a stand/tripod. i dont see why you couldnt rig something up that would screw on and have a mount on the dash
