Camera Mount
Anyone ever make a mount up for a video camera? I was thinking on the dash in the center above the vents? Just looking for ideas?

I've thought about mounting one under each fender so I can see my tires getting on the rocks.

I used an old tripod swiveling head and hose clamps to tie mine down to my dash bar on
my ORF sport cage. works great - and you can pick them up used for like $5-$10 to experiment with. saw a guy that had mounted cameras under his jeep - that was cool www.tommyjeep.com I think.

I would be very interested to see custom projects on this. I'm sure a quick bracket welded onto a front bumper would be a great platform, although risk your camera. Mounting anywhere beneath the car, I would be very worried about losing the camera all together unless you build a special skid plate or something. A clamp on the roll bar would be easy, I'll try to put something together this weekend.

This is definitely a cool idea. If anybody has pics mounted in their vehicles that would be great.

There are plenty of different mounts available out there. Frankly, just do a search on google and you'll come up with tons. Here's what my brother has been using lately:

Anyone have a pic of a good mount inside their jeep? I've been toying with the idea to mount a small camcorder in my jeep on the dash. It just seems hard to trust those small ball mounted ones to not move and give me some shaky video.
Here's the camcorder

No pictures yet but check out http://www.ram-mount.com for ideas. They manufacture just about any mount and attachment you might need.
I'm planning on installing a camera mount in my Jeep as soon as my order from RAM arrives. |

Here's mine:
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f20/dash-mounted-video-camera-341612/ If y'all have any questions then just ask. As for worrying about shaky video, it's not bad at all. I have some video from a trip but I have yet to do anything with it and post it online, maybe I'll do it this weekend.
