Brake lights not working

My wife was driving home behind me and asked me why I wasn't using my brakes at all. Turns out my regular taillights (for night driving) are working, my turn signals are working, but when I apply my brakes, they don't work.

I recently modified the 3rd taillight with some new wiring and light, so I am thinking THAT did something to make the brake lights not work. I plan on checking it tonight, but is there anything else I should perhaps look at to see where a problem may lie?

I assume that you have a Wrangler.

If your turn signals are working the bulb/ground circuit shold be OK.
Try check the brake light switch on teh brake pedal.

Just thinking.

Yes, I have a Wrangler. Sorry, I should have clarified a bit. Where would I look for the brake light switch on the pedal? Any pics of what to look for? I don't have the Jeep with me today (don't want a ticket for no brake lights).

I plan on putting it in the garage tonight to work on it so I will find out if the regular tail lights black out when I apply the brakes or if the brighter lights just don't come on.
