box design??

Im planning on a box for 4 downfiring 12's but would like to have some kind of back seat. Does anyone have any ideas? i was thinking of somehow mounting the stock back seat on top off the box but i think it would be too high.

I don't think you'll be able to have a backseat with 4 12's, you could with 2 12's. I have a 4.5cu ft box with a wood frame for my 2 amps with a lid for ppl to sit on. How far from the floor will the subs be? I would like to try it with my 2 12's

i really havent drawn out some specs but ill prob take a serious look at things on thurs or friday and ill post my ideas and you could tell me what ya think. I still need to do some homework on downfiring but i have a basic idea in my head. If anyone does know how much space is needed underneath it would be very helpful.

Depth below your box wil depend on the excursion of your woofers. Let us know what product we are talking about and I am sure we can figure something out.

Rex,
Those woofers are kinda weak, if I were u which admittedly I am not, I would save a little money and get two better subs and a low distortion high power amp to run them. However if thats what you want to run they only excurse a little over .39 inches. If I was to build that box I would add atleast an inch over the excursion to give the air room to move. But as I said the w0 is a pretty basic sub.

my friend has these visonik 12's that are dvc and take 600 watts. they have 2" excursion and actually hit harder than what my audiobahns did. has anyone heard of these. I really dont care about brand names b/c they will be facing down and as long as it hits hard it could be any brand.

Look man if all you want is loud what we tell you isn't really gonna matter anyway. You tell us you aren't a bass head and then in the same breath you say it doesn't matter how it sounds as long as it's loud. If you want help with something nice and want it to sound good post and let me know... If you want to buy junk, the sell 1000 watt optimus amps at radio shack for $100.00 and you can still sometimes find Dr. Crankenstein woofers around to.

Am also getting another 4-channel amp to run modpods and soundwegdes. Will top it off with a panasonic 401-u cd player. Whats the total price, I am sure I could hook you up with something louder than that with only two twelves but good stuff can be pricy, let me know what we are talkiing about price wise. I would also caution you against a panasonic head unit, a good rule of thumb in car tereo is to stay away from any company that also makes home stuff with few exceptions (upper level kenwood stuff, MB quart etcetera)

What's wrong with Dr. Crankenstein? My 2 12" Crankenstein's hit around 140db. They aren't cheap subs, Car Audio Mag had list price at around $200 per sub.

WEll i installed a panasonic HU model 701u i believe into my friends M3 and its an awesome CDplayer. Im thinking about the 401U though cause i dont need so many gadget features. Im thinking about 4 Cerwin Vega Hed 12's SVC. I will run 2 in parallel to each channel of a profile 1200sx amp. I will then add modpods and soundwedges and tie those into a 2 channel amp. Sound OK?
