Blinkers and hazards not working

First I want to say thanks in advance.

I have searched this forum and it seems like no one has had the same problem as me, and if so could you please post a link to the thread.

I have a 1994 XJ 4x4 4.0L.

The blinkers and hazards do not work. I checked all the fuses under the dash and in the engine compartment. There is no clicking noise or lights in the dash indicating that the blinkers are on. I also checked all the bulbs and they seem fine.

Any help would be much appreciated!

on the fuse panel under the dash, there should be 2 cylinder type things. These are what cause the hazzards and turn signals to blink. There are called flashers.

I will replace those tomorrow and let you know if that worked.

Thank you!

Same thing happened to my WJ. Poor build quality by whoever made the blinker. The solder must not have been heated enough at the factory because what happens is the solder joints split. If you're handy with a soldering iron you can crack the flasher open and resolder where the contact pins meet the flasher board. Its quick, easy, and freeee. Thats what I did. Alternatively you can buy a new flasher if you're not big on soldering and just pop it in

'94 XJ fuse panel actually looks like this:

The flasher devices are the silver cylinders on the upper left and lower right. Only a couple bucks at any auto parts store.

Well I got my problem fixed. It was just the hazard relay. $6.99 at autozone. It fixed both the blinkers and the hazards.

Thanks for all the help!
