Best Radio Option

Thinking about getting a radio for communicating on the trail. I'm not interested in ham radio, just looking for either a CB or 2-way. Not sure which one would be better. What would be my best option out of a CB, 2-way base, or 2-way portable? The terrain is mostly flat where I live. One person told me he knows of marine radios being used a lot in the forest, but I need some experienced opinions.

CB radios are cheap and probably the most commonly used form of communications on the trial.
