antenna location?

i just purchased a cobra 29 nw classic cb and i am not sure where to put the antenna. in the winter i put a hard top on but in the summer the doors come off and the top gets changed to a soft top that's usually down. i guess my choices are the back brake lites, the front fender, or the bumper. i could use some help deciding and any pictures would help too. thanks

Look up "My Photos" in my USAntigoon Profile.. I have several pictures showing how I did the set-up.. All depends what you need.. Off Roading, you might go as short as you can with the antenna height, radiation will be somehwat compromised but on the other hand you only need to talk to another Jeeper a few 100 yards away...Have the best "RF grounding" as possible.
The best CB grounding is a side mount into the tub as I have done, or install the mount onto a steel bumper..
There are several good solutions and you might also do some search .. lots of threads on this as well..
Good Luck..

Numerous old CB antenna threads have discussions and pictures.

The advanced search fuction - http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/search.php -works much better than the basic search. Limit the search results by clicking on the Electrical, Audio, & 2-Way Radio forum in the lower righthand box.
