Aftermarket gauges

Very new to wiring, anyone have a good write up on installing aftermarket gauges. It will be a 5.3 vortec in a tj, I will not be using the jeeps factory harness.

theres only two issues ive noticed, they are satellite powered(like a gps) and due to that u must let the vehicle idle for maybe a minute or two so it has time to link with the satellite. Itll do it if your moving but it could take 3-4 miles of driving not knowing ur speed or reading how many miles youve driven. and the other being the gas gauge doesnt really work on mine it goes crazy (sometimes itll be 20 sometimes 99 and go to 45 just while im driving around) so i record my miles but i think thats just more of a jeep issue
