98 XJ lights turning on and off

Recently bought a 98 cherokee sport not in the best shape but it's my first jeep when I turn on the headlights the turn on but will turn off and back on at random I can usually get them to turn back on when I play with the knob to turn them on any ideas? This happens with low/high and fogs

Inspect the headlamp wire plugs and wire harnesses for corrosion or damage. Find the ground connection and make sure it is clean and tight. Replace the headlamp switch.
