Cerwin Vega mostly makes subs and home audio speakers?

ill tell you right now the more you spend is not always better, find a pair that fits your budget and produces the kind of sound you want out of your jeep. and also upgrade/install the rear speakers, that sould also help with the sound.

I don't like pioneer. I've had all different types and brands and pioneer ranks pretty low on my scale. Just my opinion.

I'm not a big fan of Pioneer, Sony, Blaupunkt or Kenwood. Alpines I have no experience w/. If you have the money or can find them cheap on ebay, I would buy "component speakers". They come w/ crossovers that filter lows to the woofer and high freq. to tweeters. You can really crank them up. Depending on how much you want to spend, these are really good.

Polk's are nice

Infinity's are nice too
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9qLjOAD...1085002I&wm=cl
This is a very high end example of 5 1/4" component system

My component 4x6's were $120.00 and well worth it.

Component speakers are too expensive for me.

First choice:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ehH7a5q...625CFP&g=51400
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ehH7a5q...1800&I=108525I

What I am getting cause I am not amping:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ehH7a5q...402CFP&g=51400
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ehH7a5q...800&I=1085002I

Stay away from these (not brand but shape):
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ehH7a5q...00&I=1086402CF
They limit the idea of a cone moving as a circle.

And of course, if you are cheaper:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ehH7a5q...0&I=130TSG4640
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ehH7a5q...0&I=130TSG1340

I say cheaper, but not crappy. I have had nothing but good from every Pioneer product I have ever used. Personal, it is all personal, kind of like Jeeps.

Personally I love Pioneer products. My Home entertainment system is mostly Pioneer Elite components and i've never had a pioneer head unit fail on me (unlike Alpine).
Try these. They are 4x6 AND components:

Or these. You do have 8 bucks (current bid), don't ya?

Hell, I found a bunch of them.

I can highly recommend these:
Old school Rockford, new in the box:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...761177509&rd=1

Or Infinitys. Note one is a Kappa and one is a Reference series. Kappa's are better quality:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...761928155&rd=1

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...761736348&rd=1

Whatever you do, don't buy the Audiobahn speakers on ebay.

Sent him an email and the guy wrote me back full of attitude. I should have bounced the credit card charge for the shipping he jacked me for. Some people here had better luck ordering larger stuff, some have not.

I had the same problem from him. The adapters are better quality than others I've seen though. Overall, after installing them I do not like the 5.25 adapter plates at all. 50% of the speaker is hidden behind the dash. WTF?
Once you buy the adapters and new 5.25 speakers it you just be cheaper to buy the 4x6 plates.

Here is a set a adaptors that cost less than the amount of just the shipping that offroadtoystore ripped me off. They are plastic instead of his thin metal, but it doesn't matter, strong enough to hold a speaker.
