SirG has all of the plans/blueprints off of his website. You'll have to modify it a bit by adding a port, and double check the volume of the box vs. the sub itself and what it requires for a port volume, but It should be possible. Would look really good too. Just cut out a hole for the port out of the seat fabric.

So a 'port' is just a slit in the box? Hmm, sounds easy.

Ohhh no... a port or vent for a box is an airway that is tuned (specific volume of air (size) and specific length) for the sub/box/vehicle.

Semi-ported? Hu? If the box isn't sealed, it will make horrible resonate and velocity noises. If the box is ported but not properly tuned, it would be that x 100.

Any other 33 engineering owners? Like Sirgcals design as well. What are the design differences?

I'm thinking about a single 10". Also, what amps will work and also fit in the OEM Sub console?

Will the '03 and up seats have foam on top and be more uncomfortable?

Design difference between mine and 33eng is mine is more comfortable (made full width of the seating area instead of sitting on a corner designed only to fit within the frame). mine doesn't require a lift as the result of the install. Mine was designed for quality sound and comfort first, 33's, while a fine product, was designed for speed of manufacturing and simple construction. Mine is more complicated, but those are the benefits of that effort.

Thanks. I've decided I'm going to build your design. Would you still recommend the 5.25 Polks and the Pioneer shallow sub? I've got a Sony CDX GT610UI with only one pre-out, so will just have a sub amp and power the speakers from the HU. Ditching the HU is not out of the question, but it is pretty new and I like it otherwise.

Do you prefer the sinlgle 10 or 2 8" subs? Which amp for either? I'd really like to have an amp like the MRP M450 in my sub console. I have the trunk, but would like to keep the space open.

You use the 33 engineering 5 1/4 dash plates, correct?

Any recommendation of where to order?

I wasn't aware there is a difference between 97-02s & 03s+ rear seats.

Somebody mentioned putting an amp in the console.....FYI not a good idea unless you run some kind of fan to cool it off (which kind of kicks the stealth factor out). I stuck my amp in the console (years old sherwood 180 watt) and after a few months...burnt plastic smells started. Moved the amp..no more stench! VOLIA!?

Huge difference in the seat design. Even though the 03+ seats are thinner and offer less internal volume, I like it's mounting better. More secure and easier to lift safely.

Ya, this has to be done carefully. If you had a stock sub, the hole there offers enough for a mild amp, or adding a 12V exhaust fan helps a ton. But you still lose the storage.

After reading about this and studying the plans and pics, I am going to build one.
Has anyone ever tried this with two 10" subs? Seems like some of the pics are
of two 10".
Does anyone know what the downside is of having less than recommended internal volume
in a sealed box of this type? Thanks
