2004 and up TJ front speaker conversion

The front speakers on my 04 TJ are not 4x6's. It is a 4" with a 2 inch tweeter on top of it. They are very thick and made by infinity with the Chrysler logo on it. I am assuming they are stock. I bought the 5.25 conversion brackets. I am going to install 170 watt 5.25" Alpines. Will the sound quality be better with these or should I just run stock?

yes the stock is separate and not coaxial. The whole assembly still measures and fits as a 4x6 though.

Speakers made to run 170W will sound best with an amp in that range. If you do not intend to amp them you may want to do a search for lower RMS power ranges. 35W RMS and lower works well with just head units (RMS, peak is less significant than RMS).
