2004 liberty renegade wants mp3 player

getting a new renegade but i really want a mp3 player.. we are getting the 6 cd player with infinity speakers.. is there a way to hookup a portable mp3 player to the stock 6 cd player? OR do they make a exact replacement that will work with the radio/volume controls in the steering wheel?

I've heard of some companies making conversion kits to operate the steering wheel controls into some aftermarket or remote type signals for common brands but I'd have to dig. It's not something that comes up too much for me actually and I've never messed with it myself...

As for an MP3 player, you could always get a good FM transcever for a hand-held type MP3 player and just go in through the radio. Some quality units are not too bad but it will only be as good as you're radio's FM capability (usually moderate at best). Other than that there's not much you can do that comes to mind.
