2000 TJ- Wipers stopped, not fuse

I just bought this today. Used the wipers all day on a 180 mile drive (rained 1/2 the time). Wife gets in and we go around the block and they cut out while she was messing with the wiper stalk.
I found a prior post from someone saying theirs would blow a fuse if they messed with the wiper stalk in mid-swipe. However, I checked the fuse and it seems to be OK.
Any ideas without having to get to the wiper motor?
I need to fix quickly as it kinda soured the wife on the new purchase.

Thanks

Newb here. i don't know much about the wiper motor but do I have to put the windshield down to get to it? And are you literally saying 'hit' the motor or that I need to replace it?

Any good writeups on replacing the wiper motor? If I hurry, i can get one at an auto parts store but I don't even know how to access it. Drop the windshield?
(I did a quick search and didn't see anything that helped)
Thx

Yes. I got down to the wiper motor, unplugged it and decided to plug it back in before i decided to order one, and it worked just fine. Put it all back together and have used the wipers several times since the.
If I have any more problems, i'll order a new wiper motor. It would be really easy to do.
Thanks for your help.
