1999 TJ Stock Stereo Specifications

I'm planning on upgrading the speakers in my 1999 TJ, and don't want to mess around with an amplifier or even an aftermarket receiver. Just the speakers. Does anyone know what the RMS power output of the stock receiver in a TJ is?

I just want to be able to get a set of speakers that work with, what I assume is a relatively low power output and still generate nice sound.

The rms is no more than 9 on the factory radio. I used run some of the 40 dollar pioneers from wm off my factory deck power was fine but the speaker was little bright for my tastes. I run polks offjvc deck now which have a softer sound which I really like.

I'd say that pretty much any aftermarket speakers will handle what the factory head unit will put out. I've had cases where the aftermarket speakers even had less bass response because the original radio couldn't push them as designed.
