$10 to best answer - In-Dash Nav for 05 Cherokee
I will give $10 to the best answer - make sure you include your paypal address so I can pay you. I just need some good answers which is why I am doing this.
I want an in-dash nav/radio that is under $500 that would work in my 05 grand cherokee. If it needs its own dash mount, please include that in your post. Also, whats the biggest size the cherokee can take? 7 inch?

I was strongly considering doing a Pioneer Avic F90bt for a while. It has a bunch of features. Built in bluetooth phone and nav, voice control, iPod cable direct hookup with album art display and everything, optional HD radio, sirius/xm, front SD card slot for music and files, and plays videos and everything. Theres an awesome forum devoted to modding these units seeing as they run on a windows ce platform you can do ALOT to it.

Sorry, I should have specified better. I am looking for an in-dash that doesnt pop out. Will any of those fit in an o5 cherokee? Do I need a special mold to mount it? If so where do you find these for a specific car?

hmmm i dont think you will need to get a special mold.
sometimes on amazon you have an option to choose which vehicle you want the product will fit and it will tell you if it does or does not.
i searched for radios and navigators that will fit an 05 WJ and all i get are the ones that pop out. i think that if you dont want the one that pops out you will need to modify your dash so you can fit the nav/radio.
if you do choose to modify the dash, you could buy the nav/radio first, then make it fit somehow. i have never modified slots so i have no idea how to do it but im sure with some good use of the JF search option, you will get some results.
amazon has good prices and usually shipping is free with radios and such.
but if you dont want it to pop out like my first link, you will have a smaller screen but it will be more reliable because of less breakable parts.

Yea I am guessing I have to buy the whole mold from jeep that holds the nav since it modifies the whole dash?

that will be more $$ than you have in your wallet. i tried to get a simple piece of plastic (dash cover) from Chrysler, they wanted 235 for it. i said forget it and i got one in mint condition at the JY for $10.
just saying that buying OEM parts is not worth it. like i said if you have the right tools and materials you can make your own bracket.
Some private businesses will probably do it for you for a reasonable charge. you can walk in and tell than what you want and they will tell you what your options are.
If only you lived near orange county i would have the perfect place to recommend.

I took my Garmin 765T cradle and used mounting tape to attach it above the radio. Works great, easy to see, easy to use, and the GPS still pops out of the cradle to prevent theft.

Avic F90BT is a double din unit that does not fold at all. Its got a nice feel and a good touch screen. Plus its got a bunch of fun and completely unnecessary features... such as adjustable RGB button illumination to perfectly match to factory illumination
no matter what aftermarket option you choose it will not be "plug n play" or anything of the sorts, you will need a wiring harness to wire up and you will need a mounting bracket. Plus, if you have the Boston system than you will need an interface cause the whole system (volume settings, remote amp on, fade and balance etc) is controlled completely through the PCI bus to the amp in the rear drivers side quarter panel

I highly recommend the Apline IVA-Nax-1, my friend has one in his 2007 Toyota Tacoma and i absolutely love it. Its simple yet very diverse with what you can do with it. Its right at your budget also. But Alpine make some great HUs. I run a single din in my ranger with a small tft screen. Also sonicelectronix is the go to website other than ebay, they make it easy to compare and look for what YOU want.
jeep grand cherokee limited 4x4 1995
Not to mention they send a faceplate and wiring harness for free with your purchase

Yuppp I buy everything from SonicElectronix. That and Amazon
PS that alpine looks nice but the user interface is ages behind the Pioneer plus the Pioneer F90bt comes with bluetooth, nav, and iPod compatibility out of the box. That Alpine needs a bunch of different hook up module$ to get those features. Plus that screen looks hella-pixelly in the menu modes

Alright, at least i can say i tried but if not that try the Kenwoods, i just have bad experiences with the pioneers and sonys. Alpine makes some cheap HUs also, my uncle has the $250 one but no nav, look like a ipod in tft mode. And the $389 one i have no clue about.
