so its been a fun last few weeks. got a new computer, pcm, installed in the zj. that really only took a day but it didn't fix all the issues. so back to the transmission shop it went for a week. picked it up, running great, like you'd expect a new comp and tranny to run. then the next morning wont start. get it back to the shop i go to first thing in the morning, and he gets it taken care of by like 4pm. then i get it over and pass emmissions so i can go buy my tabs and somehow get that all done before 5.
couldn't be happier, jeeps been running great, so of course i gotta take it wheelin, pics to come later. the kicker is since my jeeps been fixed ive stumbled across two beautiful dark blue wj's for sale. with my jeep fixed i told myself im gonna keep it forever, pick up a car or 2wd tacoma for a dd and i can start building and wheelin my jeep w/o having the stress of it being my only rig. ugh but im really entertaining the thought of getting into one of these dubs. ones a 99 limited 4.7 QD with 121k, the others an 04 loredo 4.0 242 with 93k
ill get those wheelin pics up later tonight and maybe find the links to these dubs too. the top pic is on the way home from the beach today, just a poser, then played with iphoto effects some.

haven't been on in a few days and came back to the split, really digging it. was looking thru the FAQ section and came across a lot of cool, useful info. did raise one question tho.
Standard Package, 4.0L:
Front: Dana 30, 3.55:1 final drive ratio
Rear: Dana 35C, 3.55:1 final drive ratio
Towing Package, 4.0L:
Front: Dana 30, 3.73:1 final drive ratio
Rear: Dana 35C with optional LSD, 3.73:1 final drive ratio
my ZJ didn't have a factory hitch but I know that doesn't exclude it from having that tow package.
what quick reference would i have to look at to find out?
for the ppl that kinda know me on here, im leaning back towards keeping the ZJ till the wheels fall off, and am really hoping to get going on some build stuff soon. i also have some pics that i need to get up of that good stock wheeling im known for.

If you are trying to find out your gear ratio is get a build sheet. There should be a link to requesting your build sheet in the faq part of the forum

There should be a tag on the diff cover. Jump under and look. The last numbers will either be 3 55 or 3 73.
Mine has the tow package, but I still have 3.55's damn '93 oddities. Lol

I had to wipe god knows how much grease off mine to read it. It should be across to bolts on the driver side, I think....

my dads friend is more or less parting out his samurai.
I scored his BFG AT 31x10.5s for free.
now i just gotta decide what im going to do as far as suspension goes.
run em stock and trim the fenders,
or 1.5'' or 2'' bb.
im running 30x9.5s now, what differences should i expect

Heck yeah man! pics for sure. My 30.5's fit no problem and only rub at full flex, and thats just on the top of the rear wheel well.

I've read of people having trouble with a BB and 31's so I am surprised this is working out so well for you. Now I'm second guessing my decision to go with 30's last spring when I got my new tires. Those have gotta look great. Pics, indeed!

so running out the door, dont have time to do a quick search. heres my question.
best 2'' bb to go with
and i shouldn't have to worry about getting an adj trac bar, longer shocks, or bump stops with just a 2'' bb and 31's right.

alright i found it
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/d...thread-591767/
still want to know if any manufacturer's bb are better then others.
im probably just going to stick with my stock shocks for now, not super concerned about bump stops yet either.
i couldnt pass up the deal on the tires, im still not to the point where im ready to start dropping the kind of build money into my jeep that i want to tho. its still a start
